1928 McCormick Deering Farmall with Model 401 Two-Row Cultivator

Manufactured by International Harvester
Made in Chicago, IL
Serial number T-27718

International Harvester is one of the oldest and most successful tractor manufacturers in the United States.

International Harvester released the Farmall in 1924.  It was the first row crop tractor.  The name “Regular” as we know it was not used in IH publications of the time.  Farmers and dealers adopted that name to identify the first Farmalls from the models that came along in later years.  After eight years of production more than 134,000 Farmalls were manufactured.  The Farmall F-20 replaced the “Regular.”  IH was America’s number one selling tractor manufacturer for over 35 years, a record no other tractor company has rivaled.

The Model 401 two-row cultivator was mounted in front and to the sides of the tractor. This enabled the farmer to easily monitor cultivating his crop.
