The John Deere GP was manufactured on January 15, 1930. It was shipped to Wheaton, MN and spent its working life in Rosholt, SD. It was restored using the museum's Beckman Archive to make it authentic in every detail to its year of manufacture.

John Deere manufactured the GP from 1928 to 1935. It was rated 10 drawbar horsepower and 20 belt horsepower. It was the first tractor with four power outlets: the drawbar, the belt pulley, the power take-off and the power-driven mechanical lift. It was designed for three-row mounted equipment. The GP had suitable power to pull two 14" plows or power a 22" threshing machine.
