Brand New Barn

Barn vs. Byre… What’s the difference?  North Americans have coined the term barn as an agricultural building that houses livestock, equipment, and grain.  However around the world, barn is restricted to storing unthreshed cereals and fodder.  You’ll find elsewhere that cowsheds are referred to as a byre or shippon, and horses are housed in stables!  Hitch up your britches- it looks like the little girls toting parasols are ready for a barn dance!
