"My family and I have been walking soybeans for as long as I can remember. The field we are
walking in the picture is a half a mile long. It is located north of Hartford, South Dakota. It takes anywhere
from one to two hours for five people taking six rows each to make one round. The amount of time depends
on how much corn is in the field. We walk at night when it is cool. I took the picture in August 3, 1999.
Using my Kodak S500AF 35 mm camera, I decided to photograph the labor of farmers for cleaning fields
at harvest. To me it shows the pride farmers take in their clean fields."
