Egg Crate

For this week’s What’s New Wednesday, we have an egg crate that was recently donated to the museum. It was donated from Orin Korth who is from South Shore, SD and has donated many artifacts over the years to the Ag Museum. Each egg carton (the one in the picture was donated with the crate) would hold about 30 eggs. The crate could hold about 4 layers of cartons. So one of these crates could hold rough 120 eggs. Some models like this would also have a lid but this particular one was not donated with one. The crate is from the T.A. Thompson General Merchandise Store in Carpenter, SD, a small town in Clark County.
