For this week’s What’s New Wednesday item, we have this interesting looking metal lantern. It has two collapsible handles, a wick which fits inside the fuel container and protrudes above the wick tub on the top of the container, and a hole on the side with a screw-in lid for re-fueling. She was donated to the museum in 1978 and is estimated to be from the early 20th century. Very few people can remember living with out electricity in their home today. Did you grow up without electricity for a time?
