"This is a picture of my little 3 yr. old sister with a yard stick in our Hurley, SD
corn field on August 7th, 1998. I took this picture because of the unusually tall corn promising
a bountiful crop this fall with historical record low prices per bushel. My grandfather who has
farmed in Turner County for 40 years can only remember prices being this low on two occasions,
both decades ago. The corn crop of 1998 will be remembered for it's tall beauty and extremely
low prices."
